PGC Newsletter 7th April 2010

Welcome to the latest update for PGC Scale Models.

2010

It is amazing how quick the year is already traveling with the festive season of 2009 a distant memory and Easter already been and gone.

We were busy in the early part of the year preparing for the Australian Model Railway Convention that was held at the Ipswich Railway Museum. The convention was well organized again and well attended by the modeling public. I felt that the classes were relevant not only to modeling but the ability to research the necessary information to allow us recreate the prototype as accurately as possible. A big thanks to the museum for supporting these types of days as we all certainly gain experiences from events such as these.

Exhibitions

Both PGC and Black Diamond Models (and of course "Coorparoo") are making the interstate trek to the Epping Model Railway Exhibition to be held on the Queens B’Day weekend. We last visited the show with our previous layout Fairfield and were very well looked after.

We are also attending my local show at Toowoomba Showgrounds on the 19-20th June presented by the DDMRC. Ted and the club always put on a great weekend and not having enough of running the layout in Sydney we will be backing up for this weekend.

So please if you are attending any of these shows we would love to catchup.

Product updates

We indicated in our last newsletter that the arrival of the FG and FGM was pending. These are available either direct or through Horizon Hobbies. Along a similar path to the QLX we are offering these in packs and are as follows:-

Prices are as follows:-
FG Kit $23.50 R-T-R $50.00
FGM Kit $23.50 R-T-R $50.00
2 Pack (Includes one of each) Kit $45.00 - R-T-R $100.00

FGFGM
FG & FGM

Whilst speaking of the QLX's thankyou to all of the positive feedback on the kits. The demand for these kits has been wonderful with not a lot of the initial run remaining. On the request of one of our customers we also have produced the QGR Squigel Decal that was extensively used during the early diesel era.

Steam Locomotives

We have been busy working on the current orders for the PB, C17 and 6 D15. There has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes around updating not only the construction methods but the improvement of the final product. For example the C17 tender is now a one piece casting with the capability of easily fitting a DCC Chip should you wish to go down this path. There is also more brass etching being completed to assist with the construction and provide a better finished product. We ask that you continue to be patient and be assured we are working towards having your order completed as soon as possible.

NEW Products

We have also been working on a couple of new wagons and hope to have them ready for release in the second half of this year. There will be something for both the steam and diesel modelers. Of course this is in addition to the Sunshine Express Cars that we are also currently working on.

Surplus RTR Wagons Available

When we have completed previous orders we have tried to build an extra for stock.

We therefore have the current models available RTR should you wish to add to the collection:-
4 x PYC Container flat $75.00each
5 x QLX in the late grey colour scheme $85.00each
3 x QSC Taughtliners (2 Q-Link 1x Easiliner) $75.00
1 x HJ Open timber wagon

I hope this has given you an update of what PGC has been up to however if there is any queries that you may have please let me know.

Happy Modelling
